REMINISCENCE OF THE PAST
REMINISCENCE OF THE PAST
At the 09 December 2004 farewell bidding after the mission of the UK diplomat accomplished in Cambodia, Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng, Co-Minister of Interior of Cambodia and British Ambassador Stephen Bridge to Cambodia accounted the past events they well remembered. Ambassador Bridge said “I was almost packing my bag and returned to London.” After one week being posting in Cambodia, the UK Ambassador made a unwelcomed statement supporting Global Witness on the issue of illegal logging at the government and donor meeting in the building of the Council of Ministers. Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng responded by saying “we became great friends then.” Ambassador Bridge said his successor will carry on the UK commitment on the poverty reduction program in Cambodia. Both agreed the cooperation and understanding between Kingdom of Cambodia and United Kingdom have been strengthened. Both Kingdoms commit to continue to work together to rid off the international terrorism.
