From  September 1st 2023 to 13th September 2026, during the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly under the Royal Government of Cambodia, officials from the General Department of Immigration of the Ministry of Interior executed deportation procedures for a total of 72,426 illegal foreign nationals (including 8,994 females) representing 96 nationalities from the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Mr. Touch Sokhak, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, stated that the deported foreign nationals primarily comprised 11 nationalities. The majority comprised 32,395 Chinese nationals (13,619 of whom were involved in online scams), 10,568 Indonesians (2,470 involved in online scams), and 8,737 Vietnamese (4,986 involved in online scams).

According to Mr. Touch Sokhak, the deportations also included 3,549 Pakistanis (764 involved in online scams), 3,364 Bangladeshis (852 involved in online scams), 2,395 Myanmar nationals (776 involved in online scams), and 2,385 Thais (1,296 involved in online scams).

Additionally, the authorities deported 1,921 Indians (575 involved in online scams), 1,155 Filipinos (97 involved in online scams), 1,111 Ugandans (12 involved in online scams), and 577 nationals of the People’s Republic of Korea (256 involved in online scams).

The spokesperson added that, as of September 2026, a total of 1,605 foreign nationals of 30 nationalities are currently being held at five deportation centers. Among them, 469 foreign nationals of 15 nationalities were found to be residing and working illegally in connection with online scams.

It is noteworthy that, over the span of 8 months in 2026 alone, the General Department of Immigration has deported a total of 52,224 illegal foreign nationals (including 6,288 females) of 85 nationalities. Of these, 18,393 foreign nationals (including 2,174 females) of 38 nationalities were residing and working illegally in connection with online scams.
