

During a courtesy meeting with His Excellency KIM Chang Yong, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia, at the Ministry of Interior on 13 January 2026, His Excellency Abhisantibindit SAR Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation, enhancing the professional skills of law enforcement personnel, and promoting exchange visits to share experiences in criminal research, investigation, forensic, and new professional skills to support the work of specialized police forces of Cambodia and Korea.
Based on the shared principle of placing high value on cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of both countries, Ambassador KIM Chang Yong informed His Excellency Abhisantibindit Deputy Prime Minister that the Korean side will continue to strengthen this close cooperation and stands ready to provide comprehensive support to Cambodia, particularly training programs, experience sharing, and the organization of future visits for Cambodian leaders and specialized units in order to learn from the experience of Korea’s counterparts in security and policing.
Recalling past cooperation, His Excellency Abhisantibindit SAR Sokha highly appreciated the productive relations and strong cooperation between Cambodian and Korean law enforcement agencies, which have consistently supported one another in security matters. He noted that, especially following the establishment of the Cambodia–Korea Joint Task Force, cooperation between the two countries has achieved significant results in preventing, suppressing, and combating all forms of transnational crime, particularly cybercrimes.
His Excellency Abhisantibindit also expressed sincere appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Korea for its continued assistance, close cooperation, and valuable experience exchanging which aimed at strengthening the capacity of law enforcement forces. These efforts contribute meaningfully to the maintenance of security, public order, and social safety for both countries and the region.
In response, His Excellency KIM Chang Yong, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia, expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Abhisantibindit for his support and facilitation of effective cooperation and close relations between the two ministries. He noted that this has created favorable conditions for advancing law enforcement efforts and for successfully implementing joint projects and cooperation plans initiated by both sides, particularly the establishment of the Cambodia–Korea Joint Task Force for Korean nationals, which has achieved results beyond expectations.
