The world of ours presently goes through the era of information technology that becomes the force of the globalization to move the economic development, international relation, information and civilization exchanges, and to combat transnational crime in order to ensure the world security. This political trend, despite of the diversity of policies, is able to unite States after the end of the cold war to closely cooperate in advancing world orders to strengthen regional security, to safeguard world peace and to propel the world development.
With the aforementioned political shift, the movements of terrorist and religious extremists have recently revealed in a number of states in the region and in other corner of the world. They had taken the advantage of the circumstances to utilize the information technology to propagate their doctrine, and crime and terrorism teachings to undermine the world stability, the national and social security, and the amity among the States. Subsequently, a majority of States embark on various strategic measures to tackle those crime and terrorist activities.
The hostile trend through the world commits all States to solidify their cooperation in all fronts particularly the agencies that have the responsibility and the accountability to implement the rules of law, the economic and financial scheme, military and diplomatic plans of action, aiming for the prevention and suppression of the trans-continental crimes.
The Kingdom of Cambodia is the ASEAN Member State and the signatory of the UN Convention on Transnational Organized Crimes. It actively partakes with the international community in defending the stability and peace of the region and the world over.
The Interior Ministry of the Royal Government of Cambodia has the responsibility and the accountability to maintain the security and public order, and to administer the provincial administrations. It had established a website since 27 February 2003 intended to enlighten the public on the platform of the Royal Government of Cambodia and the relevant activities of the Ministry of Interior.
